Once an order is received for a painting it is withdrawn from being for sale, and remains withdrawn unless the prospective buyer cancels the order, or the sale process is not proceeding satisfactorily, in which case the prospective buyer will be informed.
Confirmation of Orders
Orders are confirmed by invoicing the client (by e-mail, copy by post) with the price of the artwork concerned and any shipment and insurance charges.
Where clients are unable to arrange their own collection from Winchester, shipment is at the client’s risk and is charged for. Shipment is by courier or special delivery/parcel post as requested by the client, except for framed pictures when it is by courier only.
Shipment insurance covering loss or damage in transit can be arranged if requested, and will be charged for.
Payment and Completion of Sales
Payment, unless otherwise arranged, is by Sterling cheque drawn on a UK bank and made payable to Josephine Chisholm. Sales will be completed when the cheque concerned has cleared. On completion sales are either collected or shipped.
If the artwork which you have bought is not to your liking, and you return it at your own cost to Josephine Chisholm, so that she receives it in a saleable condition within 4 weeks of the sale, and thereby you cancel the sale contract, she will refund the invoiced price of the artwork (excluding insurance and shipment charges) within 4 weeks of the receipt of the artwork by her.
Josephine Chisholm will replace at no charge faulty artwork (excluding artwork damaged in transit) returned to her, and reimburse any related shipment and insurance charges. If a replacement is not available, in addition, she will refund the invoiced price of the faulty artwork (including shipment and insurance charges).
